By Road: From the South and West– Guests should follow the main routes into Belfast before joining the M2 Northbound leading onto the M5. From there follow the A2 Causeway Coastal Route into Carrickfergus. Dobbins Inn is located on the High Street the entrance of which is almost opposite to the castle. 

From the North – If you are travelling along the Causeway Coastal Route follow the route to Larne and from there follow the A2 into Carrickfergus.

Parking: Restricted on street car parking is available outside the hotel. Therefore we recommend guests use the free Long Stay Car Park at the castle which is a two minute walk from the hotel. There are other Short Stay Car Parks located throughout the town.

By Rail: Carrickfergus Railway Station is a short 2 minute walk from the hotel. Carrickfergus is located on the Larne Line with a regular service departing both Belfast and Larne throughout the day. For the latest timetables please click here. 

By Bus: Ulsterbus services 163 and selected 168 services from Belfast serve Carrickfergus throughout the day. The closest stop is Joymount for up to date timetables click here.

Seaports/ Airports: Guests arriving into Larne and Belfast Ports by car should follow the above directions to travel to Carrickfergus (Journey time approx 20 minutes). A rail connection is also available from Larne. When arriving to either Belfast International Airport or George Best City Airport guests should use public transport links to Belfast City Centre before travelling on to Carrickfergus.w
